Now, I am a religious Buzzfeed reader. I do not read the political post but I love most of what is on the website. A few months ago I saw a post on the community section asking people for their weight loss stories. I typically never send anything in to their site. I am fine blogging but not sharing on Buzzfeed as millions of people read Buzzfeed and only a few hundred read my blog. This time, I wanted to share, plus they may not even use my weight loss story anyways.
Well about 2 weeks ago I got a follow up e-mail with a few more questions. They wanted more details about how I lost weight. What was the hardest part. How much weight had I lost since March, etc. I got so excited because I thought they were actually going to use me! I got the email and within 5 minutes of receiving it I was responding. I kept checking online every day since for the article and never saw it. Mid-last week I stopped looking. I accepted the fact that I was not going to be on the site, until yesterday. I was actually driving to the gym and I got a Facebook request from a stranger asking for tips on weight loss. The lady has PCOS like me and saw me on Buzzfeed. I was so excited that I had to stop and look for the article. I was actually featured.
I know some people think this is silly to be this excited but for me, it is a big deal. I am a small blogger. I don't do anything like this or ever get feature like this. For me to have my weight loss journey on there and having others being inspired and encouraged by it, means so much to me. It helps me stay on track and to keep going. If I am able to even help one person lose weight and feel better about themselves, than that to me, makes a difference. I am happy that I can make a difference in someones life, even if it is only one person or 10 people.
