My Fav BB18 Houeguest SO FAR

Big Brother 18 has been on for almost a week now and the house guest have been in the house for about 2 weeks. I have the live feeds so I am able to see a bit more than you see on the show and so far, I already know who I like, who I am unsure of and who needs to be shown the door ASAP. So..here are my favorite house guest so far. *Warning..this may contain spoilers.*

1. Corey.

He is adorable, good looking and I like him. He seems like a nice guy and part of me hopes he and Nicole start a showmance. I know she is not looking for anything but they are just to adorable to not be together. I hope he sticks around for awhile because he is one of my favorite guys on this season.

2. Nicole.

I loved Nicole on BB16. She played a good game but and played hard. I hope she wins this season honestly and is my favorite player. It is way to early to tell who is going to win and with Big Brother, it is anyone's game. I am rooting for Nicole though!

3. James.

I mean who doesn't love this kid? He was a favorite last season and was a no brainer for Big Brother to bring back. He keeps the house laughing and is funny to watch.

4. Tiffany.

I did not like her sister last season but I do like her. She seems to be a bit different from her sister and she can think on her own which is good. It was nice to see her side with the Vets and not the newbies.

5. Frank.

I don't remember much of Frank from BB14 but I really like him so far and he seems to be a strong competitor. I hope he sticks around awhile because he is one of my favorites. He is one the newbies should keep an eye on!

Who do you like so far?

Weekend Recap + a request

Why do the weekends go by so fast???? This past weekend flew by. It came and went so fast in a blur that I felt like it was never even here. I had my niece and her friend all weekend long and for someone who does not have kids, entertaining two teenagers all weekend long is exhausting.  I am so used to just going and doing what I want to do all the time and that having them around and doing what they want 24/7 is difficult! When we were in the grocery store shopping on Friday night, they were being loud and noisy and  I could not even concentrate on what I was trying to do. I never realized how much I valued my quiet times when shopping alone. I love my niece and her friend, don't get me wrong, but I love shopping alone and did not realize how much I love it when I go by myself.

When we to the pool Saturday. I love the pool and swimming. I love laying out in the sun, or attempting to as I am extremely pale and do not want skin cancer or to burn. I would much rather stay in the shade half the time and stay semi-pale than be a lobster. I am not the best at swimming but everyone is, so I tend to stay in the shallow areas and watch everyone else. I will go down the slides but you can bet my big butt is swimming as fast as I can to the shallow areas once I come down that slide.

The rest of the weekend was relaxing except for the fact that my father went back in the hospitalDad's health has been going down hill rather quickly lately. He is not even 60. He has RA and Diabetes. In the past few months he has not been able to work, has lost 40 pounds and can not eat any food. He has had to live off of a liquid diet. They believe it is his gall bladder and may do surgery today to get it out. I ask that everyone take a second out of their day to say a quick prayer for my dad that he gets better and that he makes it through this ok!

Natural Balance Delectable Delight

When it comes to our dogs, we want nothing but the best and with one of our dogs, Itsy Bitsy, she has a grain allergy. Lucky for us, there is Natural Balance Delectable Delights which is Grain Free. Natural Balance was founded on the philosophy of providing pets with premium quality nutrition based on sound scientific principles and backed by a Buy with Confidence program.

Pet parents can feel confident and trust Natural Balance because they believe in using premium quality ingredients, being nutrition experts offering tools and solutions to find the right formula for your unique pet, ensuring our food is safe by testing to the highest standards and through our satisfaction guarantee.

With our dogs, they tend to eat whatever they can find and with Itsy have a grain allergy, we have to watch what she eats. She can't have just anything and if she does eat something with grain in it, she will literally turn super read around her snout and she bites the pads off her paws. We can not have that because it hurts her and it breaks my heart to see her in pain.

Knowing that Itsy and Zoey tend to eat whatever they can get their little paws on, I tend to keep a close eye on them at all times. I do not let them get far out of my eye sight. We make sure they get a lot of exercise and lots of love and play time!

Their most favorite thing to do is go on walks and they always lead the way!

Natural Balance Delectable Delights WetCups are a gourmet blend of wholesome ingredients for complete and balanced health. They come in four flavors: Delectable Delights® Woof’erole, Delectable Delights® Surf ‘N Turf,  Delectable Delights® Duck’en-itas, Delectable Delights® Fish N’ Chicks.  My dogs love all four flavors and I know they will be having these all of the time now.

Have your pets tried Delectable Delights® products from Natural Balance? Make sure you check out Natural Balance on Facebook and Instagram to learn more and stay in the know with all of their new products and what Natural Balance has going on! Let me know below if your pet loves Natural Balance as well!

Monster Miler 5k

Over the weekend I ran a 5k OCR where I live. It was at a local camp down the road from my house. I was super excited that finally, I did not have to drive hours away from the house for a OCR race and that I could drive 5 minutes and be there. I really thought this was going to be an easy race. It was not a big race. It was small. I go to the gym typically 5 nights a week. I workout a good bit and I participate in a good bit of OCR/5k's. I completely underestimated this race.

When I first started I felt pretty good about the race. I was doing great, I was passing people and keeping a steady pace. I got to a water obstacle that I did not know about and it was down hill from there. I can not swim very well and my anxiety was like NO Rachel this is not going to work. I had to wrap my legs around a rope and my arms and dangle over a lake and crawl across it. The water was up to my neck and I had to hang on there. I now have a lovely rope burn on my leg and it is killing me.
After that I ended up hitting my head pretty hard on a hay bale when jumping from one round bale to another and then on the ground. I was pretty mad at myself from that point but sucked it up and kept going. When I got to another obstacle where I ended up falling off some PVC pipe into a mud pit and hit my head yet again, I got up, crawled out the pipe and my husband was standing there and I just started crying. My head was pounding, my leg was killing me and I was so mad that this little race was kicking my ass. I have run countless OCR races with no problem but this little one was killing me. I sat there for a few seconds, cried, got it out my system and took running again. I would of been so mad at myself if I quit.

My time for this race was 1.26. It took me a hour and 26 minutes. The fastest time for my age group for a girl was 55 minutes so I do not feel totally horrible about ti but I know I could of done better. I could of definitely pushed myself more to run more and try a little harder. After the lake/rope burn, hitting my head twice, I was exhausted and drained and I got into my head way to much. Part of me never wants to run this race ever again but part of me wants to come back next year and tackle this beast and get a better time and show it that I am better than the race!

I am glad I kept with it and finished. I am glad I did not give up. I am disappointed in myself though. I could of done better and I let my injuries get the best of me. I will not let this get me down though and I will have to push past this and keep on trucking!

I Love a 5k!

About 3 years ago I ran my first 5k. I ran it with absolutely no training. I had no idea what i was in for. I thought it would be hard but not super difficult. It was a color run on grounds at UVA. I ran it with a co-worker and my time was 50 minutes. For someone who had not worked out in years, I felt like it was an okay time. The next day though, I paid dearly for not training for that race. I was so sore. BUT the one thing that was amazing that came out of it was a love for running. I am in no way a  runner but I love participating in 5ks and OCR events.

I have ran a ton of 5k's and other style obstacle course races over the years. I have no idea at the number but I would guess its 50-60 races over the past 3 years. I have run night runs, mud runs, color runs, regular boring runs, cold rainy runs, and everything in between. The only medals I have ever gotten are participant medals and I am okay with that. I am in no way a runner and I understand that but I love a good 5k. I love getting out there and giving it my best.
My best time for a 5k is around 41 minutes. I have never gotten under 40 minutes and I am fine with that. I have a 35 minute 5k on the treadmill but I am not sure if I will ever have that outside with a 5k on pavement, hills, etc. I am ok not being first. My main goal is not be last.I do not want to kill myself while running but I do not want to be last ever. I want to give it my all, push myself as hard as I can and cross the finish line knowing I tried.

I have to say participating in 5k's and runs is one of my hobbies. It is a hobby I never thought I would grow to love but I do love it. It is addicting. By the time I am done running, I am already looking for my next race to run! When I am running, I typically am cursing myself and trying to figure out why I signed up for the run and why I am doing this to my self. I am always glad though by the time I am done that I did it.

I do not have a runners build. I do not look like a typical runner. I am chunky. I have a few extra pounds. I am in no way an experienced runner.  I do love it though and I hope one day I will win a medal at one for placing in the top 3 and that one day my time will be under 35 minutes!

Weightloss Journey

Since January, when  I was 195 pounds, I have really been trying to lose weight. I was working out at home, doing workout dvd's, running on the treadmill and zumba and a few weights. I was losing weight but not at the speed I wanted to. In March, right after my birthday, I joined the gym. Since then, I have not looked back. I work out 5 nights a week and I eat healthy. I am able to say no to food that I do not need in my body and I am so much happier because of it.
This has not been an easy road by no means. I have wanted to give up so many times. There has been so many nights that I have not wanted to go to the gym but I do not want to gain a single pound back. I want to lose another pound, I want to get back to the girl I used to be when I was smaller and happier except this time I want to be healthier.
I am turning into one of those people that document everything online and in pictures. If you follow my instagram, @rsilski87, you will see that I work out alot and I show off a ton, I can't help my self! I took a bunch of before pictures and when I took those, I felt horrible. I was so ashamed of how big I was but now that I have lose 18 pounds and see a change already, I feel so much better and I am so much closer to my goal.

I want to lose another 23 pounds. If I do that I will be at 155. I will then see if I want to lose more or if I want to stay that weight. I am thinking I will want to lose more but we will see. My ultimate goal is to be able to run the Spartan Sprint and look good in those Nike Shorts with a sports bra and feel good about myself!

Weekend Recap

Why do long weekends go by so fast?? This past weekend just flew by so fast and I feel like I did not get much done. I did not get my house cleaning done that I wanted to and my car is still a mess. I did get to workout at the gym like I wanted to, I did get a few things done that I wanted but not everything that I had planned.

Friday when I got home from work, we were watering the garden outside and talking when I noticed Zoey had disappeared. Normally the dogs stay right with us and do not like to have us out of their sight. When I found her, I saw she had found a baby deer stuck in our fence down in the woods. Now I am not talking about a a few weeks old baby deer. This was a few days old baby deer. Chris was able to get the baby deer out of the fence, we checked it out to make sure it was okay, we talked to the game warden and we were informed to left it go and its mother would be back at dusk to get it. We have yet to see either one again so I am assuming both are both together safely.

Saturday was gym day. I was at the gym for awhile. I can spend more time there and get more of a workout in on the weekends since I do not have any time constraints. I also feel like there are not as many people there when I get there early in the morning which I prefer. When I go in the evenings, there are a ton of people and it makes it hard to get the equipment I want sometimes. I got a good hour and half workout in Saturday and Sunday and it felt really good.

I also ventured out to PetSmart with Itsy for a blog post. I have never taken her there before so I was worried about how she would act but she was great. There was no other dogs in the store at the time and everyone was super nice to her. You never know how someone will be to her because she is a pitbull but it was nice that everyone was coming up to her and being sweet to her .

I am hoping this week is a good week and goes fast! I am ready for the weekend and a fun filled packed weekend!
