Spartan Race?

Last week I decided that I want to run the Spartan Sprint in September here in Virginia. I have done a ton of research on this race and its pretty intense. Most of my OCR (obstacle course racing) is for fun. I run Rugged Maniac twice a year and I have done a few others like Mudderella. Those runs are not serious. They are fun, you can take your time and skip stuff that you do not want to do.

Spartan is not that kind of race.

Spartan is hard. It sucks but is so worth that medal at the end. I read online that if you skip an obstacle/fail at one, you have to do 30 burpees for each one. At first I was like well how do they know if I am doing them? They have people there..making sure. Spartan Sprint is 3-5 miles with a ton of obstacles. I asked a few of the Pro-Team members about it and they have said the Virginia course is tough.

Last night I started putting burpees into my workout routine. I know that I will be doing them some and I need to be able to do them without it killing me. I did 20 of them last night and about died. It was miserable. I hated it. I plan on doing the same tonight!

Let me know below if you have ran Spartan before. I would love some advice on it!

The Hard Cider Run Recap

My weekend went by way to fast. I was busy all weekend but it was worth it! I ran the Hard Cider Run on Saturday in 45 minutes. Now, no that is not an amazing time but considering one entire mile was straight up a steep hill, I did pretty good. I ran this race last year, so I knew what I was in for but it was still tough. There was triple the amount of people at it this time and it was very busy the entire time. The only thing I did not do was the extra medal which was eating donuts. I felt like that was to much while running.

This was a tough tough run. I couldn't have done it without my running buddies. I find that if you are running, grab a friend to go with you. It helps keep you motivated and you help motivate each other while doing so.

I will be running the Hard Cider Run next year. I know it will be tough but if I can get my time under 45 minutes, I will be happy. My first year it was 52 and now 45. I am bringing that time down!!

Luke Bryan Concert

Over the weekend I went to the Luke Bryan concert here in Charlottesville. I was given a ticket last minute from a friend which was amazing. Luke Bryan is one of my favorite singers and I have never seen him before until Saturday. His show was amazing! He is so talented and looks incredible! I am rarely disappointed when I go to a country concert, but by far, this was one of my favorite concerts so far.

Of course, every person who goes to a country concert knows, wear boots, jeans and a flannel. Those are the staples of a country concert. It was a sea of flannel at John Paul Jones arena Saturday night.

One of my favorite parts is people watching at concerts. People do not care what they do/act/dance in front of others. There was a bunch of guys below us dancing and we cheered them on. They were hilarious, blowing kisses and stuff at us. It definitely helps the time pass when they are changing the stage.

My seats were in a box which, you can't beat that. I prefer to be in the pit or front row but the box is so much fun. The view is amazing, you can do what you want and you are away from everyone else. I would recommend the box for everyone! It is a completely different experience that with regular seats.

I recommend everyone go see Luke Bryan in concert. He had Little Big Town with him, which were amazing and could of had their own tour. He sang all of the good songs and he shook his booty for all to see. I am pretty sure my ovaries exploded by the end of the concert.

Let me know if you have seen him in concert and what was your favorite thing about it!

I feel like I have too many clothes and that it is time to consign or give away many of them. I loved this post because it inspired me to try to challenge myself to wear all the clothes in my closet as well as work to get rid of some of the clutter and keep only what I currently use. Blog Post: Yeti vs Rtic Hi everyone! This is Chelsee this week. I have been really interested in seeing if the Yeti cups are worth the hype. They are not exactly cheap. When I saw this post comparing them to another brand I knew I had to share it with all of you. With summer months coming I need a cup that can handle the South Georgia heat. If you are one that has wondered about this as well, then head over and check out Charlotte's Corner! She has a very detailed post and video that may help save you some money! 5 Steps to Get Healthy

Getting healthy has been one of the biggest struggles for me. I am working on a healthier me and so far, it is going good. I am in no way an expert or know everything there is to know about getting healthy. I just know what I have done and how it is working for me.

1.  Eat healthier. I know this seems obvious but most people do not realize how bad they really eat. It adds up over time and that is one of the biggest reasons people struggle to lose weight. I do not eat out anymore and I am limiting my unhealthy snacks. I am trying to make sure everything I put in my body, is good for me.

2. Workout. I know most people hate working out and I am among them but it helps. When eating right combined with working out, the weight just goes away. I workout 5 days a week for at least a hour a day.

3.Be more active. If you do not want to workout, just be more active. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk to the office instead of riding the bus, get up every hour and walk around for 10 minutes.

4. Get others involved. It is hard to lose weight when you are the only one trying to do it. At work and at home, work on getting others on their way to a healthier lifestyle. At my work, we have a walking group for 30 minutes during lunch.

5. Don't deprive yourself. When I want something bad for me, I let myself have it. I find that if I deprive myself, I will binge eat and that is just as bad. I prefer to have a smaller portion of something than binge eating later on.

These tips have helped me lose a good bit already and will help me lose even more. Let me know some tips you have to get healthy!

My Favorite Country Music Stars

If you have read my blog for any amount of time, you would know how much I love country music. I am a big country music lover and I go to many concerts a year. I try to do anything I can to see my favorite stars. I enter contest from online to radio ones and go to any I can afford to go to. I have a set of artist I love the most though.

Miranda Lambert...
She is amazing. The first time I saw her in concert I was blown away. She made me feel amazing and was all about girl power. She doesn't need a man to make her feel good, she sings what she wants and she tells it how it is. She is by far the fiercest country singer out there.

Thomas Rhett...
I won a contest back in January and I was able to workout with Thomas Rhett and his crew. Most people wouldn't think about having an amazing workout with a country singer but it was by far one of the best moments in my life. I have seen him a few times in concert and he is always amazing.

Luke Bryan...
I have not seen him in concert YET but in a week I will. THANK GOD! He is an amazing singer and has an amazing booty. What more do you need?

Jason Aldean...
I have seen Jason Aldean in concert a few times and each time he gets better and better. He has an amazing show, nice tight jeans, and he always includes the audience.

What are some of your favorite country music acts? Let me know below!

Loving Myself

Trying to make myself happy is one of the hardest things I have ever done. Since January, I promised myself this would be my year. I wanted to lose weight, find myself, do things I love, and just make myself happy. In life, we always try to make others happy first and I am trying to put myself first for once. It is a long process and journey.

Starting in January I cracked down on myself about losing weight. I was at my heaviest weight and was not happy. I was very much in denial about it and it took the scale to really show me how much I had gained. I have lost some of the weight, I am almost half way to my goal weight and I already feel amazing.

I workout 5-7 days a week for at least a hour each time. Every day I get up and do my hair and makeup, even if I am not going anywhere. I can look good if I want to and for myself. I am trying to wear clothes I would not normally wear because I was not comfortable with my body.

I still have a ways to go on this journey, but I am already happy and my confidence is much better than it used to be. I am an amazing person and I only have to prove it to myself!
