Weekend Recap

This weekend was another jam packed weekend but it was so much fun. I love having things to do on the weekends. I hate just sitting at home with nothing to do but clean the house. In the spring, I am typically pretty busy.

Saturday I went and met up with my best friend. I do not get to see her that often but we talk every day and I would be lost without her. She lives 2 hours away and we are able to meet halfway between and hang out for a few hours every now and then. We ate at Cracker Barrel and then we went to Starbucks and just saw for a few hours and talked. It was amazing to just relax with no distractions and just talk.

I didn't get home until like 6 and then we wanted to watch the UVA basketball game, which we beat UNC! Go Hoos!! We went to some friends and watched the game with them. It was such a close game and had me biting my nails a good bit. If you do not like UVA Basketball, then we can not be friends. They are such a good team! I was able to sneak this picture of me and Chris. He never takes pictures so when I get them, I gotta make them count!

Yesterday it was so pretty here. It was 69 degrees outside and I actually had the AC on in the car because it was hot. I loved every bit of it. I think winter is finally gone from here and that makes me so happy. I went to Wine and Design yesterday. I have done this class so many times that I have lost track. I did the paint your pet class. I was super nervous as I normally only paint scenery and not my pet. I am very happy with how it turned out.

After Wine and Design, I came home to a messy home and had to put away 5 baskets of clothes. That sucked. Completely sucked! My husband sat in the chair and watched me work while he cuddled Itsy.

This weekend went by fast but it was so much fun and I enjoyed every moment of it! I hope next weekend will be the same!

Diet Coke "It's Mine" + DIY tutorial!

*This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #UniquelyMine #CollectiveBias *

Recently Coca Cola has come out with the "It's Mine" Diet Coke bottles. No two bottles are the same! I was super excited when I saw these bottles out at my local Kroger store that I had to grab some of them up. I love Diet coke. I drink at least one Diet Coke a day. It helps jump start my day and get me going. When I saw these bottles though, I thought how fun it would be to make them into a flower vase.

The Diet Coke It's Mine were very easy to find in the store. All you have to do is find the drink aisle and look for the Diet Coke with the cool looking cans and bottles.

All you need to make the DIY Flower Vase is:
1. The Diet Coke "It's Mine" bottle/can
2. Flowers. Use what ever flowers you want(real or fake)

Step 1. Drink your Diet Coke! That is one of the perks of this DIYer!
Step 2. Rinse out the bottle/can. You do not want a sticky mess sitting around for ants to get into.
Step 3. Let the bottle dry out.
Step 4. If using real flowers, add some water into the bottle of the bottle/can.
Step 5. Add your flowers!
Step 6. Give them away or put them on display for all to see!

I am absolutely in love with how this turned out. I think it looks cute and classy in my living room. If you want to spruce it up even more, just add a cute ribbon to the bottle!

These bottles are only available for a limited time (while supplies last) and feature the same great taste of Diet Coke that Diet Coke fans love! If you want to know more about Diet Coke's new launch, click here!

Weekend Recap

So I am a few days late on a weekend recap. I am sorry but after writing about Thomas Rhett, I couldn't find another post that I loved as much as that one. I had an amazing weekend though and I wanted to share it on here!
Of course Friday was the workout at Snap Fitness with Thomas Rhett and then I went to the Thomas Rhett and Jason Aldean concert on Friday evening. It was a blast. The thing with country concerts, it brings ALL TYPES out for the show. I saw kids, older folk, young people and someone people who looked miserable at the show. I for one, danced the entire time and did not stop until I got home!

Saturday we went for a hike with some friends. At first I was not feeling it. I was so sore from my workout with Thomas Rhett that all I wanted to do was lay on the couch. Now, hiking with the husband is not easy. It isn't lets go down this path to this path. It is, lets leave the path for the woods and get scratched by prickles and crawl under fences. Not fun. I am glad I went even though I fussed the entire time. It helped loosen up my muscles.
Sunday, I had free tickets to the UVA Women's Basketball game against Clemson. I have only been to one other game and I loved it. It was not the most fun game on Sunday but we won, it was a breast cancer themed game and I was with friends.
This weekend was jam packed and a blast. I am so excited to have another weekend like that again!

Working Out with Thomas Rhett

Last week I tried to win a contest and got to workout with Thomas Rhett at Snap Fitness on Friday. I thought I had lost by 9 votes but the radio station put another spot in and I got to go still! I was already set to see him and Jason Aldean Friday night but when I won the workout, that made my year. It was by far one of the best days of my life and I would relive it over and over if I could. I was able to bring a friend with me and I choose one of my good friends Pamela.
I made an ass of myself at first by admitting how nervous I was and that I have only met Donny Osmond. I realize now, that was a lie. I interviewed Casey Mears at the RIR race a few year ago. See what nerves do to makes Thomas Rhett pick on you which was fine in my book!
He gave us a signed cd with our names on them and we got to take pictures with him. We then had to do circuit workouts. The workout was actually pretty tough. I only typically do cardio at home. I run on the treadmill, I TRY to do Zumba and I do alot of hip/leg stuff. I think I did great at the workout but I feel like it was hard on me because I never do weights.
The hardest part of the workout for me was the burpees. I hate them. It was the last thing we had to do and if I never do another one in my life, I would not care.
When I was on the treadmill, TR came beside me and ran. That was heaven right there. He ran for a bit and then just chilled and talked to us. He was so down to earth and asked questions about our life and things we liked to do. I did try to get him to run Rugged Maniac with me! We also got to talk to his trainer, Johnny. He was a super nice guy and talked to us for a long time. It was nice to get to know them and what their lives are like. They travel so much and I could never imagine that lifestyle.

Friday night we got to see him and Jason Aldean in concert. It was such a good show. We had a blast and definitely bragged to people around us that we got to workout him Thomas Rhett earlier in the day.
I almost did not enter this contest. I thought I had no shot at winning. I am glad I did enter and so thankful that I got this opportunity to workout with someone who is famous but also an amazing and nice guy. Thomas Rhett is by far one of my favorite country music stars!

I Get To WORKOUT with Thomas Rhett

Yesterday I posted how I had lost and did not get to go see Thomas Rhett and workout with him at Snap Fitness. Well all of the stars and planets must have aligned because they called me during lunch yesterday and opened a spot for me because I worked so hard and was only a few votes shy! So today, at 1:30 I get to meet Thomas Rhett and then bust out a killer bootcamp workout! I will have a ton of pictures tomorrow!!

So for is this!

Things That Suck.

Yesterday I asked people on all of my social media channels to please vote for me on Facebook to win a workout session with Thomas Rhett tomorrow. Welp, I lost. I lost by 9 stinking votes. I had 141 and to win, I had to be in the top 4. The 4th place person had 150. There is nothing I can do to change this but I know I tried hard to win. I woke up to complete disappointment this morning.

I also read online this morning that Big Ang from Mob Wives passed away from cancer. Now the show was complete trash but I loved her. She was always the voice of reason and pretty much the only reason I watched the show. I am glad she is in in a better place and no longer in pain but the world misses her.

I gained a 1 lb back this week. On Monday I weighed my self after saying I was not going to and I was 187..that was 4 lbs heavier than I was. I weighed today, I was 184. I am one pound more than last week and it is driving me insane. I have to crack down and not let it bother me. That scale and number do not define me.

I am hoping I get in a better mood today! Leave me some love below and cheer me up!

I am asking everyone that reads my blog today to take a second and go vote for me. I am trying to win a workout session with Thomas Rhett on Friday here in Charlottesville. If I play in the top 4, I get to go! All you need to do is click the link or my image below and go vote through facebook!! Comment below and let me know if you voted for me!!

Weight Loss Update

I haven't posted in a few weeks about my weight but I wanted to share how the progress is going. I am really starting to push myself and work hard and try to do more. I no longer take the bus to my car in the evenings, I walk.I find I feel better if I can get a minimum 10,000 steps in a day. I am not stepping on a scale at all. I feel like my scale discourages me and I quit to easily when I try to lose weight and I check my weight every week. I tend to get obsessed with it. I am thinking of only weighing in on the first of every month. I know when I do bad and I know when to make changes.
I am working out 5 nights a week. I am doing Zumba, kickboxing, leg/arm stuff, running, and walking dvd's. I like to mix it up and not stick to one thing. I do not want to get bored and quit easily on my goal. I feel that having the fitbit and jawbone have helped a lot as well. They show me how active I am and sometimes how active I am not. I know what days I do less and I am trying to make an effort to do more on those days, which are the weekends. I now feel guilty if I do not work out 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes. The biggest place I have notice a weight loss is my face. It is starting to look skinnier. Now if the stomach could go that way!

My biggest hurdle right now, is eating better. I do good for a few weeks and then I do bad again. I need to find a better meal plan and stick to it. I need to be better motivated to do what is needed to lose weight. I have a goal, and I want to look good in a bathing suit this year. I know I can do it before May, I just have to focus. If you know of a good meal plan, let me know! I would love to try it! Let me know in the comments section!

Consignment Finds

Over the weekend I decided to give consignment shopping a second chance. I went last week and found the cutest sweater dress from Loft and I got so happy that I wanted to do it again. I went on Saturday with my niece to the Goodwill and a local consignment store here where I live. I didn't take a ton of pictures of everything but I did take some pictures of my favorite items that I got. We only spent $40.00 and we got 9 items! That is amazing! I am not sure why I did not try shopping at consignment stores before!

I am actually wearing the brown sweater dress today. It has not one sign of being worn..ever! I am pretty sure it is brand new. I got the flower dress for the beach this year and the other one for work. I was pleasantly surprised with my finds on Saturday.

Let me know if you go shopping at consignment shops as well!

Doggy Cuddles Heal

Last night, I had a horrible migraine. I used to get them all the time but they finally went away. I am not sure what triggered last nights migraine but it was miserable. I had to lay down in the dark, with no noise and hope it would go away. It made me sick to my stomach and I was over it. I laid down in our bed and the dogs both came in the bedroom and laid me with me. Now normally, I want to be alone be for some reason I was glad they were back there with me. Itsy got directly in my face and laid down. She put her head on my neck and went to sleep. I swear her cuddling me and distracting me is what made my head not hurt anymore.
This little dog is a big baby. She is a pitbull and she has her own little quirks about her. She has a under bite, her tail is bent and her back leg will not go straight. She is scared of just about everything but the one thing she is amazing at, is cuddles. Every evening she wants to cuddle and just lay in my lap. She hates loud noises, other animals scare her and she a wimp but I love her.
I am such a bully breed lover. I know some people do not like pit bulls but I believe they have the biggest hearts of all. They are so gentle and sweet. I plan on only having this breed as a pet. They are judged and abused and it is not right.
If you need your day to brighten up, go hug a pitbull!
