My Wishlist

Do you ever see something, want it but are like nope...way to pricey for me? That is how I am. I have this lovely list of things I want, but they are either a) to pricey or b) my husband may get mad if I buy them. So here is my list of some things I would love to have. May the gift gods bless me and send them my way.

1. Nutribullet. This would make a world of difference for me in my weight loss.
2. GoPro. I would love to have a GoPro for all of my races and show how I do on them.
3. Tyme. This is a like a straightener but curls your hair. Yes please!
4. Ice cream ball. Seriously who does not want one of these?
5. A selfie stick. All bloggers need one.
6. Fitbit. For my fitness. I have a jawbone but I would rather have this.
7. Hunter Rain Boots.
8. A Lilly Pulitzer dress! I do not own one and would love to.
9. Some Nike running shoes!

What are some things you want but won't buy/can't buy?

Weekend Recap

I I love a long weekend. I was off Monday for Memorial Day and it was amazing. I will admit though that I did not get near enough things done around my house as I should have. Whoops! I did though have an amazing weekend. The only sad part was that I rehomed Bella. She was not getting along with our dogs and my husband was at his wits end with her. I did find her an amazing home where she can get all the TLC she needs. I did cry like a baby though when I gave her away. That sucked!
I watched my niece at gymnastics on Friday night. She is getting good at it and learning alot of stuff. It is amazing to see her do things that no one in our family is able to do. She is very talented and I love seeing her having fun and enjoying it.
I ran a 5k on Saturday. I ran the Hard Cider Run and believe that Hard part..was HARD. It was up a mountain for about 1 mile and that killed me. My ankle even got rubbed raw and is killing me. I did run thru the pain though and felt amazing after it! I will be happy though when my ankle is all heeled up. It hurts wearing sneakers so I had to workout last night with no shoes on. I wasn't able to run so I watched Pitch Perfect and did squats, crunches, push ups, resistance band, knee lifts and a few other things. I do this during the commercial breaks. There is always a ton and they last forever so it is a way to get a nice little workout in without having to leave your own home.
We went to 2 cookouts over the weekend and I did try to watch what I ate but we all know how that goes. I made homemade pulled pork BBQ and homemade coleslaw yesterday. Stay tuned for those recipes coming up! I did not do any cleaning at home. I was completely lazy but I did have a fun weekend and I am ready for this weekend to be here already!

Beach Recap

Last weekend I went to the beach with one of my best friends IRL. The trip was originally a 5 year wedding anniversary trip, but, due to circumstances beyond our control Chris had to stay home and I ended up taking Jess. I was very much 50/50 on wanting them both to go, but that was not an option. My husband is amazing and had no problem with Jess going with me.

We stayed 4 days and 3 nights and I did not take enough photos at all. I was slacking. I blame it on the alcohol. We had an amazing room right in the middle of everything. We stayed on 17th Street. It was by everything we wanted so it worked out well. We had a suite with an amazing ocean view. Thank you Priceline! I always get amazing deals from the Name Your Own Price tool. This was one of the best rooms I ever got. It had 2 queen beds, a living room and a kitchenette. YAY!

All weekend we people watched, drank, ate and soaked up the sun. My friend taught me how to curl my hair which I still struggle with. I got tan or tan for me as you could say. I am no longer pale white, now I am just off white. We even played mini golf. We were keeping score but then decided it was a hassle so we are not sure who won but I did get a hole in one on the first and last holes!

We are going to be going back again next year and having a girls trip. It is much needed and I think everyone has to do that with their friends.

Blue Hawaiian Cocktail

I am back from the beach today but my blogging recap will not be today. Make sure you stay tuned for that. I do want to share an amazing drink I had over the weekend and made while I was there. It is called a Blue Hawaiian. It is a easy recipe and so delicious.

What you need:
  • 1 fluid ounce light rum
  • 1 fluid ounce blue curacao
  • 2 fluid ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 fluid ounce cream of coconut
  • 1 cup crushed ice
  • 1 pineapple slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry
  1. Combine run, blue Curacao, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, and 1 cup crushed ice in blender. Puree on high speed until smooth. Pour into whatever cup you want.
  2. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and a maraschino cherry.
I used Malibu Rum for mine. I also did not measure the best as I was at the beach and had no teaspoons, etc. I love this drink and plan on it make it a ton more!

Share A Coke

*This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ShareYourSummer #CollectiveBias*

This weekend, myself and my bestie Jessica are heading to the BEACH! I am so excited. We have not went on a vacation together in a very long time. We have been friends since I was 18 years old. I met Jessica while working at a grocery store in college. We were both cashiers and became friends fast. We both have the same interest, we are alike and similar in many ways but also different in other ways. She is my BFF! We talk every day, we give each other clothes that we don't like but the other may, we trade makeup, it is one of those friendships that you know will last a life time. Finding an amazing friend like Jessica, it can be hard. Once you find them, you hold on to that person!

Since we are going to the beach for a girls weekend today, I decided to grab the Share a Cokes! I went to our local Walmart and found these Coca Colas! They were so easy to find.  I easily found Jessica, Rachel and a BFF one! How lucky was I? When she gets to my house today, I am going to give her the Jessica bottle and I have the Rachel bottle for the trip down. I also snagged a six pack of the BFF, Love and #1 for us to enjoy while at the beach.

Walmart has these new dump bins which makes it easier to find your name on the bottle. They have them separated by the type of Cokes you like as well! They have the Coca Cola Classic, the Diet Coke and the Coke Zero.

Now I also wanted the BFF Cokes to go with us because, duh, we are BFFs! You can find the Coca-Cola Share A Coke 12 packs, mini cans, 2 liters, and the 6 pack glass bottles at Walmart. The aisle are so easy to navigate and very organized that I was able to find every Share A Coke that I wanted, super fast and quick.

I love this campaign. It is one of the funnest things a company has done. Who doesn't love finding their own name? It is like a thrill to finally find yours after you haven't be able to. Walmart has the biggest and widest selections of the Coca-Cola personalized 20 oz. bottles. If you are looking for your traditional name, they will have it!

If you want to see how others have shared their Coca-Colas, go to this link! People can get really creative and it is fun to get ideas and make them into your own! You can find your own name here

What are you looking forward to this summer, and with whom would you Share a Coke? I would love to know you #ShareYourSummer. Leave you a comment below with how you have #ShareYourSummer and any ideas on how you plan on doing it.

Beach Weekend!

This weekend I head to Virginia Beach with one of my best friends. It was an anniversary trip but has turned into a girls weekend. My husband has his own auto-mechanic shop and is super busy. He is not able to go to the beach but I am not going to let a room set there empty that has my name on it! I plan on drinking all weekend and not having a care in the world! If you are from that area, leave a comment with fun things to do and places to eat at!

This week has been super long and I can only guess it is because I am counting down until tomorrow. I am ready for 5 to hit so bad today so I can go home and start getting ready. I booked my trip on Priceline (best place to book trips BTW) and I got an amazing deal for the room. Can you tell I am excited yet? It may seem like I have never been to the beach but I have, many times. I am just ready for a break from everything for a few days. To just sit in the sun, relax and de-stress is so amazing. It is one of the best feelings in the world.

I will not be blogging until I am back. I do have some scheduled post though, so stay tuned for them!

Until then..later alligators!

Weight Update.

Yesterday I went to the doctor again and got my usual "You need to lose weight" speech. Thanks..I got the memo at the last appointment but please, keep on with this loveliness. I understand they are my doctor and are looking out for me but I don't need the entire appointment to be about that when that is not even why I came to see you.

I will say though, I have not worked out since Thursday. I was so busy this past weekend that working out was just not an option. I did work out last night and will be again tonight. I always try to get 3-4 workouts in a week. I am in no way able to commit to 7 a week. That is insane. I also went to a wedding on Saturday. The picture I took at home, I love it. I love the dress and the way it looked on me. At the wedding I went to, that is a whole different story. I did not like the way I looked in any pictures so you will not get to see any pictures from the wedding. I feel like Saturday was my day to feel fat. #fatgirlday

The next day I put on shorts and a shirt from last summer and I was able to fit in them. I felt amazing. I needed that little bump to make me feel better. I was beating myself up over the day before and how I looked. Did my weight change between those 2 days? Nope! I was just wearing something I was more comfortable in and I was happy with how it looked on me.

I had lost 10lbs back in Jan/Feb. I was counting calories, working out and really watching what I was eating. I have gained most of that back. I got tired of counting calories and steps and just gave it all up. The only thing I was doing was working out still. I started it all back though this past weekend. I need to lose weight for so many reasons. I work out but my food is the biggest problem so I am back to making sure I am aware of what I eat more when I track it and count my calories.

I hope I stick to this and don't give it up again. I know there are bad days and good days. I would prefer more good days then bad!

5 Years!

Holy cow! Time has flown by so quick! I have been married to my amazing husband for 5 years! I have no idea where time has gone. I feel like it was yesterday. My wedding is by far one of the best days of my life and I wish I could relive it again! We have plans tonight for dinner at a nice restaurant in town. I am not big on jewelry and gifts so we are just making it a simple fun evening. No need to go crazy!

The past 5 years have been amazing, hard, tough, sweet and so many other things. Marriage is not easy. Marriage is not 50/50. It is 100/100 from both side. If you don't both fully commit then your marriage won't work. We got married pretty young and most people we were friends with did not get married at the age we did. Only a few did. I was 23 when we got married and Chris was 26. We didn't get married because it was the cool or fun thing to do. We got married because we love each other and wanted to make that commitment to each other. We have had our fair share of ups and downs throughout our marriage and will have many more. No marriage is perfect and we are not perfect. I can only hope that we last for many many years to come and our love just grows stronger!

Chris is honestly my best friend and my everything. I could not imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else. He is my rock, he is there for me no matter what, he puts up with my crazy antics, if I need a good cry some days..he just lets me cry and listens to me and comforts me. He really is everything I could have asked for in a husband!

Rugged Maniac (after the race)

*I was compensated for this post by Rugged Maniac but all opinions are 100% my own*

This past Saturday I ran Rugged Maniac. I went into this thinking it was just like any other obstacle course. I was WRONG! It took us 2 hours to complete. I normally finish in a hour for obstacle course. This run is a BEAST. It has so much mud and obstacles that there is no way you can finish that fast. My favorite obstacle by far there is the last one, the Particle Accelerator. It is a 50 foot off the ground slide and you have to work hard to get it. Once you see that bad boy, you know you did it!

If you don't like mud, this race is not for you. It is MUD...everywhere...the entire race. During the race you are like man, I am over this mud but after you are all "When can I do this again"!!! I am scraped up, I have bruises and my muscles are sore but you know what? It is coming back to Virginia on October 10 at this same spot as this one was. I am definitely going to be signing back up! It was worth every bit of sweat and blood (maybe no blood lol) that came out of me.

I ran this race with 2 other people that I am friends with. I definitely say do this as a team. It is hard and you need help sometimes to get over obstacles. You can do it alone but it is much harder. Do not go into this thinking of your time. Go into it thinking of it as a fun run. If you can get over the obstacle at the start line, then you can do this race!

I loved this race. I can not wait for the fall Rugged Maniac. It felt so great crossing that finish line and I can not wait to do it again with these lovely ladies. At the end of this race you get an amazing medal, a hot shirt, and some fruit and water to replenish all of your electrolytes! Make sure you pose at the end for the photographer! You want a great picture. I am going to print mine off and frame it! If you have ran Rugged Maniac, let me know! Leave a comment below with how you felt about the run!!

My Favorite Blog Resources

Blogging is not always easy and I have learned over the years a few things that help with it. Anything free, and that makes it better. So below are a few of my favorite, free, blogging resources.

1. Pic Monkey If you need to edit a image, add text to something or even add a nice border, use this site. It is free and they have a lot of good apps that go along with it. There is a paid part of it but who needs that??

2. Photoscape. I suck at editing images most of the time but this has really helped me. I am to cheap to actually buy photoshop and this is free. I have used it a ton and actually have made some really cute printable items that I have at home in frames.

3. Freerangestock. This is the best place to get free photos for your blog. I use them some and it never hurts to throw a photo into a blog post.

4. Free Fonts. When I downloaded Photoscape, I needed some fonts to play with, so I went to 1001 Free Fonts. It has some of the cutest and fun fonts as well as more scripty styles.

5. Free Blogger Template. I had my layout custom made BUT for the longest time I had a free template until I finally broke down and started paying for mine. Blogger Candy has some of the best free templates.

What are some things you have found that are free and help you with your blog??

Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! This weekend flew by. I was super busy and I feel like I didn't get everything done that I wanted to! I ran Rugged Maniac on Saturday. I will have a post about it on Friday, so stay tuned for that! It was an amazing race and if you can run it, do so! It is hard but fun! I also had my niece over the weekend after the race. She is such a sweet girl. She went on a hike with Chris and picked flowers for me. She also LOVED meeting Bella and spending time with her. I am pretty sure Bella would of just forgot about me and loved to go home with her. She loves my niece and being around her.

I spent a good bit cleaning the house yesterday too. I feel like that is all I do sometimes. Clean, clean and clean. I am pretty OCD and I worry that my house my smell or something so I clean it more than needed. Is anyone else like that or is it just me?? I can't stand seeing a mess and I am very paranoid about how people perceive my house.

The weather is amazing in Virginia this week and I am so glad to be able to enjoy it. Friday is our 5 year anniversary and we have dinner and a few things planned. I can't believe we are at 5 years. It has flown by and I can't wait to see what the next 5 years hold!

Remember..check back for the Rugged Maniac post later this week!
