Allergies.

The other day I had an allergy issue. I knew I had some allergies..just not sure what they all were. My lovely little pup was laying in my lap. She does this a lot and loves her cuddle time. Well after awhile my eye started itching and almost swelled shut. It was still a little swelled up the next day as well.
Yes I am coloring my hair but this happened before. Girl gotta look good!

I called the doctor and told him about what happened and he referred me to a allergist to get checked out. I went yesterday. I knew somewhat what they would do, just not what they would test for.

I was pricked and poked so much..it was ridiculous. I got the skin scraping stuff and I got injections of stuff. I had more stuff show up then I thought. My arms were itching the entire time but of course you can not scratch them. The entire time during this a child was next door screaming his head off. I think they were killing him...that's the only explanation I can come up with for the screams he made.

I tested positive for being allergic to a pile of stuff. Dogs, cats, shellfish, maple trees, mold, cockroaches, potting soil and all other kinds of junk. I knew about some of them but not all. Now I have to get special pillow cases, kick my dogs out the bed (yeah right), and avoid a bunch of fun stuff.

I am lucky that it is not more severe and that I only have about 30 things I am allergic to then compared to others. It is minor, so no living in a plastic bubble yet!

Run To The Beat

Since I have started running, I can not run without music. I have to either have someone to chat with when I am running or I have to have some music going on. I can't listen to sappy music or down. I have to have a good tune playing when I am running. I never used the use the music app on my phone. I tried pandora but it would go all sappy on me mid run. Soo...I finally started to download music from iTunes and I am so glad I did.
Here are my top running jams!

1. All About That Bass.

2. Shake It Off

3. Burnin It Down..(Sappy but it makes me want to be skinnier hearing it)
Burnin' It Down by Jason Aldean on Grooveshark

4. Happy

5. She Looks So Perfect

6.We Can't Stop.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend flew by! I stayed busy so I wouldn't think of what yesterday was. It worked and I made it through the day!!

We got a new tv on Friday and got it hooked up finally yesterday evening! I can't believe how horrible our old t.v. was. The color was bad, it had a crack in the screen and it was about 15 years old! We got a LED/HD t.v. that is a smart t.v. I have no idea how to work it except to watch regular ole t.v. The best part about it is that it looks like the people are there with you in the room!

I ran over the weekend as well. I had not worked out in a few days and I could feel it. It was such a beautiful day outside and the weather was perfect for a run. I didn't have to wear a sweater or anything this time. I could of spent all day outside.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!

The Stages of Working Out

Lately I have been on a big health kick. I gained some weight and I need to lose it. So to shed them lbs, I am running, walking and doing a ton of core exercises at home. I am sore all over but I know in the end, the goal is worth it.

Stage 1. Super pumped about working out!

You get your workout in your mind, you are going to rock it. You put on some cute clothes that match and you are ready!

Stage 2. You start working out.

You feel like a beast. You are going to crush this workout. Nothing can stop you.

Stage 3. About halfway through you are tired, ready to be done.

You want to skip some things but you know you can't. Just push through it.

Stage 4. A few minutes left.

At this point I am dead. I want to quit...why am I doing this! I want that pizza that is in the kitchen. I HATE WORKING OUT.

Stage 5. Finally finishing for the day.

This is the part where I collapse on the floor and die. I feel like there is nothing left in me!

And then you do it all over the next day!

1 Year Has Passed.

1 year ago this Sunday my world changed completely. Here is the post when everything happened.

1 year later and it still hurts. There is not one day that goes by that I do not think of Dax. It still hurts...just not as bad. I do not cry every day. I do not get upset as easily when someone mentions him or the situation. I am still healing. Every day is a process. I will never be over what happened nor am I ever going to forget.

The hardest part is the last memory I have is Dax in a casket. I hate that I had to see him like that and that he had to go through so much at such a young age. I would give anything for him to be here today.

I have had to answer things for his sister, questions she should have never had to ask. I have had to sit through court hearing after court hearing and stare at the child that did this, the child that caused so much anger and hate in me. It has taken time and is still is taking me time to try and forgive him.

The big thing is I do not want Dax remember for being the boy who got shot. I want people to remember him for his energy, his fun and playfulness, his character and personality. Everyone loved him and loved being around him. He was a good kid.  He loved to test the limits and try to get away with as much as possible but he was an amazing child who was so so smart.

He now has a family hurting and healing and missing him deeply. At night when I am outside I talk to him. Crazy..but I do. I feel like he is always with me and will always be.

I love and miss my little weasel and we will be together again.

Let's Be Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the Let's Be Friends Blog Hop!

A blog hop is a set time frame for current or aspiring bloggers to find new blogs and quality content. It is a great way to make new friends and find inspiration! It is also a fabulous way to promote your own blog and posts.

Dear Friends,

What a day to celebrate! This is the 88th week of the Let's Be Friends blog hop! Thanks for joining us on this special day. Chelsee and Tiffany are extremely delighted to see the way this hop has grown and love to see your faces each week!

Join us every Tuesday at 7am (MST). This blog hop focuses on content. LINK UP YOUR FAVORITE POST from last week in this fun content-sharing blog hop! I love the idea of blog hopping, but I love the idea of reading posts and quality content on new blogs I've never been to even more. Instead of simply linking up your blog button, you are now able to link up your favorite post you recently wrote. Have a delicious recipe to share, DIY tutorial, or heartfelt post? Share it with us! All hosts and co-hosts put up some unique and fun content from the past week. Make sure to check them out. P.S.- you may still link up your blog button and blog name, but it is encouraged to link up your favorite post instead. You will get more page views and interest if you do so! Some of the most successful blog hops I have participate in focus on content rather than just exchanging follows. You never know who will become a loyal follower or pin that delicious new recipe you posted!

The BEST part of this blog hop? Each week there will be a WINNER! That's right, each week we will choose one lucky blog to feature from the previous week's hop. This hop receives thousands of page views every week, so your blog will have the chance to be center stage for free. You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win. Only those who link up a specific post are eligible to be featured! *You must follow all the hosts and co-hosts in order to win.

The last exciting change is that the co-host spots will now be available to all sponsors of  The Dwelling Tree or Southern Beauty Guide. If you are interested in co-hosting the blog hop, email Tiffany or Chelsee about sponsorship opportunities and how to co-host the weekly hop!

There are a couple of great giveaways going on right now at Southern Beauty Guide and The Dwelling Tree. Go check them out! :)

I just loved this post by Ashley on how to successfully include your dogs in your wedding. I always love when weddings have their own personal touch, and doggies are such an important part of our lives! She gives really practical tips on how to make it happen. I actually think these tips are great for any sort of even dogs might be going. Anyways, whether you have a dog or not this post is great. The pics are awesome (I am a sucker for wedding pics!). She looked gorgeous on her wedding day, and had her furry babies with her. Love it!

Ashley's blog, The Nashvillian, is a great blog full of awesome posts. BEAUTIFUL pictures and great posts. Go check The Nashvillian out and go follow Ashley

I Run Slow

Over the weekend I participated in another 5k. It was the Color Me Cured 5k and it was a blast. It is just like the color run. I finished in 45 minutes. I am trying to get down to 40, so lets keep our fingers crossed that I get there. I did avoid the color though as it was a color run. I did not want any of it on me as I had a long drive back home with no shower!

I also ran a mile yesterday. My legs and shins were so sore but it was worth it. I have to take small steps to reach my goal. I have also lost 10 lbs already and I am 20lbs away from my goal weight!!

I saw this tank yesterday on groopdealz.com and I had to buy it. It fits me perfectly! I run...alot...just not very fast!

I know it is going to take time to get a better speed and see some LB's come off but I am very happy with where I am going!

Remove Odor from Towels

I know I am not the only person that has this problem. When I was my towels..sometimes they still have that nasty mildew smell. I thought it was my washing machine, so I cleaned that. Then I thought maybe I had left them in to long after they were done but nope. They just smell.
via Overstock.com

So here is a easy way to get them clean!

Supplies:
1 cup of vinegar
1/2 cup of baking soda

All you need to do is wash your towels in hot water with a cup of vinegar, then run it again in hot water with a half-cup of the baking soda. It will strip the towels from that nasty mildew smell and all of the gross residue that is in them. It eventually leaves them nice and fresh.

I do not add laundry detergent to the wash and I do not dry them with fabric softener sheets either. . I also only do this every month or so just so the smell is gone and they smell good.

Halloween Costumes-Pinterest Inspired

via Pinterest
Me and the ole husband are having a Halloween Party coming up...atleast I am. He may not be aware or plan on attending as he hates these type of things. One of the best parts about a Halloween Party is the costumes. The food and decorations are fun but nothing is better than finding a great costumes, making one or dressing like a sleaze because it is Halloween. Now I don't dress like so don't judge me!

For those who just want a T-Shirt and something clever on it.

I have to say that Halloween movies are something I look forward to all year long. I am a sucker for ones like Hocus Pocus, which I admit scare me as a kid. However, I am always on the look out for other movies that are just as amazing that come on around Halloween. I have to say that I love this post from My Fair Daily! She also has a YouTube page and is a fellow beauty lover, who I love watching haul tons of beauty products.  Kaelyn picked some amazing movies that I feel you all need to watch, and who knows perhaps you have some that you can add to her list as well. Make sure you head over and check out the movies she picked and share some of your favs!

Patience is the Key

Since the beginning of August we have been trying to have a little one. As of yet...there is not one. Every month that has passed I get upset when I find out I am not pregnant yet. Now I know..it has only be a few months and it takes time. Every one that I have vented to says it has only be 3-4 months, it takes longer than that..etc.

Well I am so tired of waiting. A good bit of my friends got pregnant fairly quickly. My sisters both has their first child by 17. Me..I can't get pregnant as easily as they have. Apparently my body just says no for now. I know that every pregnancy is different for every person and that my body is still readjusting to not having medications in me that I have taken for years. My patience though..is wearing thin. I want it to happen now. I want to have a little baby in my arms.

Here are things I have been doing:
1. Charting my ovulation by a calender.
2. Buying the ovulation test strips.
3. Already taking pre natals
4. Eating healthier and trying to lose weight.

I know that most my age don't want this or are not even thinking about this yet but my clock is ticking so fast it is driving me up the wall. There is no magic answer to getting pregnant. It is all about timing and apparently mine sucks.

Fingers crossed it happens soon!

GoPro

Okay over the past year I have been trying to win a GoPro camera. If anyone has one, you know how amazing these cameras are. GoPro is even nice enough to give away a ton of stuff every day...which I have yet to win.
via gopro.com

I want this camera for youtube videos, filming my runs, filming fun things and so much other stuff that is amazing. I know I can easily go buy one, but they are pricey and I can't really spend $$$$ on one. They did just come out with one that is about half the price than all the others as well.

Alot of people I know use these for making videos when they are just hanging out with their friends, kayaking, running, youtube vids. Seriously, this thing is awesome. Do you have one?

If you know of a place that sells them for a price that is reasonable. Hook me up. Or send me one. Just kidding..no really send me one.
