Things To Do Before I'm 30

I am getting close to 30...in a few years. I am not there yet ..but close. I have a few things I want to do before I get there and stop poppin bottles and start poppin babies.

1. Go back to Disney and visit Harry Potter world. I mean honestly..this is not that unrealistic. Husband..make it happen.

2.  Meet a few of my celebrity crushes. (Dale Jr., Theo James, Jamie Dornan) If you can make this happen, hook me up.

3. Sneak backstage at a country concert and party with a country artist. AND not get in trouble for it.

4. Write a book. This is more realistic. I have always wanted to write a book and after reading a few hundred I think I can do it. It just may take a long long long while.

5. Get a new tattoo. They are addicting. If you don't have one, don't get one.

6. Run a marathon.

7. Take Country Couture to another level.

8. Get on freakin Big Brother!!!!

9. Try to work for Nascar....again.

If you are getting near 30, what are thing you want to do? If you went through this...what was some things you did do??

Guest Post: The Florkens

Hello lovelies!! I have a sponsor taking over today!! The Florkens!! I love their blog and I think they are adorable! Make sure you check out the post and then head over to their blog and follow them!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.  We're a little a whole lot random! -- You just never know what you are going to get when you stop by the "florkens". Some days, we are super crytic and mysterious and other days we are a complete ramble fest! But everyday is a new one and we dive in head first!

2.  We're JUST like you! I mean, we are if like us, you sometimes struggle with creating the right wardrobe, or encounter major milestones, or find yourself struggling with the natural progression of life, friendships, and family.

3.  We have the cutest pets. What do a dapple dachshund, a mixed cattle-dog, and two kittens rescued from a barn and a liquor store have in common? They are part of the "florken" crew of course! And they pretty much are the squishiest little faces ever!

4.  Because a lawyer and a scientist have never been THIS fun! Whether we are slip sliding on icy roads and making front page news, lamenting that fictional television characters are stealing all the hotties on our "Top Five" list, or acting like idiots on camera for our monthly "vlogs", I can guarantee that you'll have a new perspective on all the "serious" lawyers and scientists that you see on TV!

5.  Because if you don't, I may cry.  And trust me, you don't want that. I have like, the ugliest cry face ever. Even worse than Kimmy K -- so, just come check us out yo!

ROC Race DC

About 2 weeks ago I ran the ROC Race in DC. This race was AMAZING. It has obstacles, water, running, and music. What else could you ask for? It is a 5k obstacle race based off of a poplar tv show.  They had slides, giant red balls, walls, ropes and so much more.

I was scheduled to run alone due to my husband being a total flake and backing out of the race but when I checked in 2 girls said I could run with them. They pushed me through the race and were great motivation. That is the best part of these fun races. The team work. You can show up alone and find a team!

So thank you to these lovely ladies!

One of the fun parts of this race was all the costumes. People come all out for this race. They were up from spiderman, a sun, to tutus! Pictures do not do justice for what the runners wore! It really makes the race that much more fun. I say dress up! I always wear running gear but I think I may have to start sporting a costume!

I ran the 5k in 40 minutes. That is a pretty good time for myself. It was not timed but I did time myself because for me, I am trying to get a good time. My favorite obstacle was the wrecking ball. You have to run across without getting knocked down. It may look easy but it is not. OF COURSE I GOT KNOCKED DOWN!!!

Now if you ever do attend this race, you will get to meet the MC Dumptruck. He is man pictured below. He is souper funny and will keep you laughing when you are near the area he is. His outfit....maybe kinda..small.. but he is great and the MCs they are awesome! They really get you pumped up for the race.

Now..go sign up for the ROC Race. Use code RACHEL for $5.00. Prices increase though after time so make sure you sign up for your race now!!!

How to Make a Life

Hello! This is Chelsee this week.  So you all impressed me so much by the posts you submitted last week! I have to thank all of you for linking up and giving us some great posts to read! This week many amazing posts were submitted and many of them I referred a few friends to for them to also enjoy. I personally love reading about your lives and thoughts on just about anything, as well as seeing the delicious food you recently made! I hope that you all continue to linkup your posts (not blog url) and follow a each week because I must say that they are all very interesting to read!

Now onto the winner!
Sheryl blogs over at How to Make a Life and from the looks of this post, her blog name fits rather nicely with her post themes. I am one that loves decorating my house and since I live near the beach I tend to love to play on the beach theme. I was immediately drawn into this post from the gorgeous pictures. I kept wondering where can I get one of these! Photo after photo I fell in love with all of her decorations! I thought about it and realized that I knew tons of people that loved beach themed decorations and I thought that you all may want to use some of these ideas to create your own space. It seems that Sheryl and I have lots in common, in that we love making decoration for our homes. I love making beach themed wreaths and I will say that I feel so in love with the one she made! Make sure that you all head over and check out her summer decorations!

Go say hi to Sheryl today! I am sure she would love a comment from you! Be her friend and expect fantastic posts from her blog!

Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for us to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

*Remember YOU can be next weeks winner! :)

Teenage Self

My teenage self is very happy at this moment. I found out that my favorite band is BACK. I am through and through country but in my tween/teen years I was nuts over O-Town. I watched Making the Band before Diddy when it was Lou Pearlman and he made O-Town. I was insane over that band. I loved me some Jacob.

My entire bedroom was covered with those Teenbop magazines and stuff with the posters of them when I was growing up. I never got to see them in concert but if they come near me now, you can bet your happy ass I will! My best friend from high school was the same way. We were a tiny bit obsessed. I bought the VHS of them in concert. I can go on and on about how big of a dork I was but let's stop there.

I know how silly it seems but I am playing their new song over and over so I thought I would share it so you can hear it!

Listen to it! Its great. And you can see how sexy Jacob still is! BOOM!

I'm a Wimp Sometimes

Today I realized I can be a wimp. Not all the time. Just sometimes. I find that in some situations I can be super girly. Things may make me cry easy or scare me. This used to not happen. As I am getting older, it is. Damn it.

....I just finished reading a book series. At the end a character died. It wasn't the character dying that made me sad. It was her hunky man finding out and him being all sad that made me cry. I am pathetic.

...If I watch a movie and someone dies, theres a sad plot, you get where I am going...you will see tears. I will try to hide it. Don't judge me and don't stare. I will hit you.

...If I see a bug, spider, snake, or anything creepy crawly I will scream like a 10 year old girl. If I see a snake in the road..I will swerve TO HIT IT. I hate them.

...Getting shots. Nope..not up for that non sense. I mean really...who in the world thought lets inject people with stuff with a LONG ASS NEEDLE and think it is okay? I get its for health reasons so we don't die but can't they find a better way to do it without needles?

...You want my blood? Good luck Doc...that shiz ain't happening. I will pass out. You better find a better way to get to the juice in my veins.

What are some things you are a total wimp/cry about it?

I'm a Re-Reader

I am a re-reader. I tend to do that a-lot. I buy books on my nook color or I have the books from before I got my nook. I find a book I love, I read it over and over again. My problem is that it is hard for me to find a book or series that I like. Once I do, I can't stop reading it or put it down. I don't like buying books just off a whim because I worry I won't like them. I have to have someones recommendation before I buy them. I have certain types I like.

There are a few series/books that I keep re-reading.

1. Twilight series. I know...some people hate this series but I love it. #TeamEdward I love it mostly because of the whole romance and not so much the whole sparkly vampire/stupid werewolf drama. It's a good series. I have certain parts I love. I DESPISE the second book and have to force myself to read it because of Jacob.

2. In Death Series. This is written by J. D. Robb who is actually Nora Roberts. It is a LONG series. Into the 30s now in books. I love it. It follows a cop around New York in the future. It is also has to do with her romance and her super hot husband. I am not really re-reading this one but still reading it as it comes out with new books. Every now and then I may re-read the first few.

3. Fifty Shades of Grey. Shoot me now. I know. You hate or love this series. I love me some Christian. It isn't the whole kinky sex part of it. I am able to get past that and sometimes I skip over that when I read it. I really like the romance and the Christian. I only wish the ending was not rushed and we would have gotten more of a glance into their future.

4. The Hunger Games. I mean honestly..who else doesn't love ass kicking Katniss and some Peeta? The movies make it that much better! I love everything about this series and I never skip over anything when re-reading.

I know I listed off some of the "popular" books series but I can't help it. I am a sucker for love. I am looking for some new books to read. I do have a few on my nook waiting for me to read. I just have to stop re-reading stuff. Any suggestions?

Save the Undies With U By Kotex

* This post is sponsored by Kotex, but my opinions are all my own.*

I typically don't post about personal things like periods on my blog but sometimes ladies you just have to talk about these things!

For my self, I like to feel confident all the time. I try to dress to impress and when Aunt Flo likes to pop in and say hello, I still like to feel amazing and confident. When she is saying hello, I still like my underwear to look amazing still. Hey..I have a husband who I like to impress and make want me even though things are going on. I like to feel sexy..who doesn't? I only get mine unwanted period a few times a year. I hate it..we all do. We have to have it. There is no reason though to not feel confident and amazing while having it.

I work in a high end office wear I dress up every day and I have to look nice. I can not afford any "accidents". These have me covered. I know I can count on U By Kotex. They are part of the Save The Undies campaign. Now you need to try them out!

That is why I love the U by Kotex pads. They have 3D Capture Core. I can trust them to not leave me in a tough spot. They always are super cute. I don't feel bad or embarrassed if I open my purse and someone sees them. The packaging is adorable.

Introducing new U by Kotex® Ultra Thin Pads with 3D Capture Core*, a one-of-a-kind center that locks away wetness to help stop leaks.

Visit the U by Kotex and find the samples that best fit your mission to save the undies. Click on the “Get Sample” button and enter your mailing information. Then, sit back and wait, your samples will be on their way! Who doesn't love a free sample? GO NOW!

Huge thank you to Kotex for sponsoring today's discussion and helping me #savetheundies!

Dumb Things I have Done At a Concert

I love country music. I love it too much sometimes. I typically only go to country concerts. I have seen a ton of country acts over the past few years and normally I drink at these concerts and sometimes, I do something dumb at the concert or act a fool. So I figured I would share a few.

1. Justin Moore.
Justin Moore was with Eric Church here in good ole Va. It was time for me to re up my beer. I had to have a few before the concert because unfortunately we are one of those places that has a beer limit. It is non sense. I was feeling quite right and was standing against the wall gaining my composure when a short man, my height, walks past me. (I am 5'3 y'all!) He has security around him and all. It was Justin Moore. I was to drunk to realize it until he was walking away. I could of got a drunk selfie, got him to sign my boob, who knows what but of course I drank to much and it never happened!

2. Miranda Lambert...part 1.
I was at my first ever Miranda Lambert concert and I wanted to look super cute so I wore a sweater dress. It was a little tight. Well..once again..booze got me. I danced the entire concert. I thought I looked cute..pretty sure I didn't thinking back on it. There was an older man and a young boy right behind me. I believe they say my rear end a few times that night. Whoops.

3. Miranda Lambert...part 2
I saw Miranda again in a different venue and I pre gamed. This venue you could drink as much as you wanted..whoops. Well I ended up flat footing, dancing like a fool in the aisle and somehow I kept dancing backwards into the guy behind. Sorry Mr. behind. me.
image

I could really continue with this but you see a pattern? I drink to much. I miss celebs, I dance like a fool.
What are some good memories/disasters that you have from concerts?

Now onto the winner!

This post totally caught my eye! At first I was like- wait- a no drip ice cream cone?! Then I looked a little closer to see that this sweet delight is a really fun idea for hosting a party to get a totally fun reaction from both parents and kids! I mean, what kid doesn't want an M&M filled ice cream cone, topped with a donut hole, candy melt, and sprinkles? Ok, def not healthy and very much sugar overload, but really great for a special occasion! I am saving this recipe for my own future events.

Lou Lou girls is a really fun blog with great recipes and crafts! I really want to try the Olive Garden copycat zuppa toscana soup! Kimberly, Jessica, Cassie, and Miss Amber share this amazing blog. Go say hi to them and give them a follow!

Keep posting awesome content! You make it so fun for us to read all your posts! If you can, please link up a specific post. It makes it easier for us to come and visit!

High School Reunion

My 10 year high school reunion is next year. Most people could care less about these things but I was actually looking forward to going to mine. I have moved away from the town I went to high school in and moved back to where I grew up. My parents did the same. I have no family that lives in that town. It is a few hours away from where I live. I found out the other day that the group that plans the reunion was looking to have our 10 year on Thanksgiving Eve possibly. They want to do a happy hour/drink thing.

Now...I have so many reasons that this does not work for me. Most reunions are in the summer around here. It seems that this "group" of friends gets together every year on Thanksgiving Eve so they just wanted to go ahead and make it our reunion as well. For someone like my self who no longer even lives in the state, will not be near there for Thanksgiving, why would I travel there and spend my Thanksgiving with people who are not my family? My graduating class, as I recall was more than 20-30 people. Also to have a drink/happy hour/party on the night before Thanksgiving is not that realistic for people with families, people who are traveling for Thanksgiving and for those who have to make a Thanksgiving dinner.

I shouldn't be as upset about this as I am.....but I am pretty ticked off about this. I feel like this group is just looking to make this reunion as easy for them as possible.. They don't live there, they just come home for holidays so let's make it when it is more convenient for them. They are not planning anything special.

I believe at this point, even if it was switched to the summer, I would not go. I feel like they are not trying to plan a nice reunion. They are not putting any time or effort in it. They want to have it at a restaurant where hardly anyone can fit into and its one of their families restaurants. If I wanna see my friends I went to school with, I will call them.

Has anyone else dealt with this before?

Weekend Catch up

I know my weekend catch up is super late but ehh who cares! I went to a wedding over the weekend in Newport KY. It was in the aquarium and it was AMAZING! I have never been to a wedding where I can tour an aquarium at the same time before and it was a blast. My husbands cousin got married and she was absolutely stunning. So now for a picture overload!

We ate the Hofbrauhaus in Newport for lunch. If you are ever there, you have to go there. It is so good and fun. I danced on the table and got to listen to some fun music.

We were also those typcail tourist that overpaid for a carriage ride. I have rode horse my whole life but hey..when in rome? The horse was Cesar and he was a cutie. He did not however like his ears touched so steer clear of that! Also..he loves sugar cookies!

The first night we had a few drinks on the levee and the was the view over the Ohio river looking at Cincinnati. It was beautiful.

The next day was the wedding so we spent the day in Cincinnati for awhile. I went to Macys and Tiffanys where I just stared at jewelry I can never afford.

Here are some shots from the wedding....the penguin shot is because I wanted to hug a real one and no one would get me one.

This all the cousins that were there all together!

It was a great weekend and I am would love to do it again!
