Weekend Recap

This past weekend was a blast. I had my niece for the weekend and with every thing that happened last year, any minute I can spend with her is a blessing to me.  We went bowling on Saturday night and I have been bowling in years.

It was a ton of fun and I won both games. I know, I should have been a nice Aunt and let my niece win but I didn't. We went to the arcade afterwards and I felt like a big kid. We played so many games and wasted money but it was well worth it.

On Sunday, we were watching Family Guy and it was the Star Wars episode. Well my husband then wanted to watch Star Wars so as the good wife that I am, I went to Walmart and bought a 3 disc set of of the movies. When I say I went to Walmart, I changed out of my pjs, put my bra back on and went. I even brought back beer and candy. I had never seen the old ones and only one of the new version. is to much shooting and not enough conversation in it but hey, what do I know?

So if you can find the Wife of the Year Award and send it on over, that would be great.

I hope everyone has a great Monday. The weather in VA is warming up finally and I loving every minute of it.

New Name New Me

If you haven't noticed, I have a new blog name and new design. My blog has really changed over the past few months and has grown since I first started blogging. I feel like this represents me more and is more of who I am. I have to give a big thanks to Chelsee for the design. She really helped me out with this! If you ever need a design, she is a great person to go to!

I am really wanting spring to be here. Lately, mother nature has been on a war path here in Virginia. It is snowing almost every week and not just an inch or two, I am talking 6-7 inches. By the time it melts it snows again. I am over it. On the weekends it is back to 70 degree weather but you can not enjoy it during the week.

1. I am ready for cookouts with my family. I love being around my family and I love having cookouts in the summer time and spring time. I have the biggest yard now so every comes over, they all make something and we just cook out. I am so ready for this to happen, play some corn hole and just relax with family and it not be for a holiday.

2. TAN! I am casper pale. I do not tan in tanning beds but I would like to be less casper-ish. I mean come on, I am pretty sure I can blind people with these legs.

3. Yard work. We built our house about 3-4 years ago and we are about done with getting the inside decorated. We now need to get the outside done. The only thing we have done is plant about 10 trees. I have not one shrub, bush, or flower outside my house. My goal is for when the weather is nice, is to make some flower beds and make my yard all pretty. I need spring to be here first. GET WITH THE PROGRAM MOTHER NATURE. Or one of the home make over shows just needs to come to my house.

4. Parties with friends. I love field parties and bonfires in the summer. There is nothing better than sitting around a bonfire and hanging with friends.

So whoever ticked off mother nature or Elsa from Frozen..please please make them happy and bring spring here. PLEASE.

ACM Awards

The Annual Academy of Country Music Awards are coming up in Las Vegas this year and they are being held at the MGM Grand on April 6th. I love country music. I have been to my fair share of country concerts over the past few years. If you have read my blog, then you know I am a lover of country music and country artist. With the ACM's coming up, it makes me remember all of the concerts I have been to and how much fun they have been. I can not even county on both hands the number of them that I have been to and some I have seen over and over.

With the Country Music Awards coming up in Las Vegas I wanted to share a few of my all time favorite concerts I have ever been to. I have went on vacations for some with the girls, won tickets for some, others I just went with my husband, and some it is just co workers letting some steam!

This past year year I got to see Florida Georgia Line with Jason Aldean here in Virginia. It was an amazing show. We were 3rd row, dead center of the stage. My friend got Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line's guitar pick, he even winked at me but he did it to a lot of the girls there, and they even threw their drink on the crowd so we got drenched in it! When Jason Aldean came on stage the entire crowd lit up! He was amazing! He is phenomenal in concert. He even got down in front of the girl in front of us and sang into her phone. It made me want to steal her phone from her.

One of my all time favorite concerts I ever went to was a girls trip to Virginia Beach to see Miranda Lambert. It was my second time seeing her in concert. She even had the Pistol Annies with her. The concert was on the beach so we were almost right at the stage. Her guitarist threw his pick so I got to grab that which made my night instantly. It was at night, we had a few drinks, we had the sand beneath our feet and we got to jam out to Miranda. There was nothing better. If you ever get to see Miranda Lambert, go see her. She really puts on a great show. It isn't about costume changes or lights, it is about the music and just having fun. I suggest taking your best gal pals and going. Make a road trip out of it and just go see her! The one thing you leave with after watching Miranda Lambert in concert, you feel amazing about your self. I do every time I see her in concert and I have seen her 3 times so far.

Now before the big award show, there is a amazing festival going on, in support of some great causes, at the Linq in Las Vegas before the ACM Awards. It is on April 4 and 5 and is headlined by country music stars Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban. There is A TON of more artist playing at this event like my favorites Florida Georgia Line, Justin Moore, Kip Moore, Tyler Farr, and The Cadillac Three (I saw these guys here in Charlottesville and they are pretty awesome).

The festival has so much more than just music as well. They have a ton of activities you can participate in like bow hunting which is demonstrated by Luke Bryan and Justin Moore (I am really wanting to be there for this.) They even had a mechanical bull and bungee jumping. Can Luke Bryan get on the mechanical bull?
Some of the charities that this event is helping are Feeding America, the Wounded Warrior Project, Outnumber Hunger, the Navy Seal Foundation, Nellis AFB Force Support and many more. You can even donate at the event on the festival grounds.

To get the entire details of the event, go here or to directly. Tickets start at $73.50! I mean honestly, that is what a typical concert ticket cost and if I lived in Vegas, I would be there! (Plus, I do would do anything to get to see Florida Georgia Line again!)

Are you planning on attending this event? Let me know! I want to hear what it is like and all the amazing details!

Root Makeup

*I was sent these products to reviews, all opinions expressed are 100% my own.*

Mineral makeup is something I am just starting to work with. I have recently started using and I am love it over liquid foundation. I find it gives a better look and more coverage over liquid foundation. Krista from Root sent me a package full of amazing goodies to try out for a review. Root is based out of the U.S.A. and many of their products and supplies are made in the U.S.A.

I was given the opportunity to test out the Bronze Mineral Powder, the Setting Silk and the Pearl Powder Mineral Foundation. I was also sent a few different shades of the foundation to try out to see which worked the best for me. I had Krista help me pick out my shades as I am not the best at picking my shade out. All you do if you need help is shoot a image of your face over and she can help you out!

The best color for me was #3, the Fair to Light Warm Pearl Powder. It is not to dark and not to light. I like for my makeup to look natural and this didn't give me a too white look or a too dark look. It was perfect for my skin tone and really blended well. Another thing I really like about this company is they send this great product cards that come with instructions on how to use the products. If it was not for these cards I would have had to e-mail Krista or called someone because I had no idea what Setting Silk was until now.

The Setting Silk was great. It gives your foundation a nice smudge resistant barrier and it extends the life of your foundation. I find with liquid foundation I am reapplying it by the end of the day, but with Root I did not have to re apply it at all. I really have enjoyed using this product and fund the sifter actually works great.

Now before with mineral makeup I never used the right type of brush. I always just bough whatever I saw at the store. I consulted with a friend and was told to get a kabuki type brush. You can also get the pretty blender which Root carries both.

I am excited about this company and plan to order more from them. They just started carrying eye shadows and I am looking at quite a few of them. My bank account will not be thanking me for this. Make sure you check them out. They are well worth it and such a great company. If you have any questions, make sure you e-mail Krista, she is great to work with.

Painting Fun

Last night I went with one of my good friends to Wine and Design. We got to paint our hearts out which was a blast. I am shocked at how well my painting turned out. I am not good at anything artistic. I can not even draw a good stick figure. I was expecting the canvas to have the outline of the picture but it didn't and for my picture to somewhat look like the actual picture, I say that is a job well done.

The weather is going to be gorgeous here this weekend so I plan on doing a ton of yard stuff to get my flower gardens started. It is calling for snow next week again so lets hope it is not as much as we have had.

I am ready for flip flops, shorts and tank top weather! What are you big plans for the weekend?

Big Brother

One of my favorite all times shows, Big Brother  will be airing this summer. If you have not watched this show, it is 16 people, who normally do not know each other and are sent to live together for a summer. They have challenges, eliminations, and a bunch of other fun things thrown their way. Over the years, some cast members have known each other, sometimes they don't. It just depends on if Big Brother wants to eff with them or not. Their motto is "expect the unexpected."

I blogged about Big Brother quite a bit last year and my blog actually receives a good bit of traffic because of it. I have watched this show since I was in middle school since the first season. It would be amazing to be cast on it. thing is to apply or not to apply again. I applied last year WITH NOTHING. I didn't get a call or anything. The way I see it, is it can not hurt to apply but in the chance I do apply and get picked, do I want to give up an entire summer and be locked in a house full of nuts? You have a chance to win some $$$ but more than likely I won't even get a call back. I mean if you watch the show, you will see their are some whack-a-doodles on there.

So my question..IS ANYONE ELSE APPLYING?? SHOULD I APPLY? I am very back and forth on this. If you want to apply to be on the show, all you do is click here and go through the steps. You do have to create a video though to send with it and some pictures.

Thing's I Could Never Quit

Have you met Morgan over at Believe In the Sparks? Well this lovely sassy lady is getting married very shortly, so for one, go tell her congrats, and two she has an awesome link up from yesterday and since I have no blog topic and I am have a been a debbie downer I figured this was the best topic for me today. So here we go.

Thing's I Could Never Quit.

-Blogging. I love blogging. I have been blogging for over a year and it is something I find happiness in it. I have taken some time away from it lately due to personal things in my life but I always come back.

-Chocolate Milk. I know how odd this one is but I had an addiction to chocolate milk. If it is in the house I will chug that shiz down like no other. I know it puts weight on but I do not care.

-Country Couture. I love my store and I love clothes. It really was the best solution to my shopping addiction. I never go shopping anymore because if I want something new, I just go upstairs to the store!

-Iphone. I am addicted to my Iphone. I will never stop. I am a social media junkie. There is no cure and I have accepted it. Now only if my husband would.

-Puppy Snuggles. (I stole this from Morgan) I love snuggling with my dogs. Every night Itsy crawls in my lap and lays down. If she doesn't I force her to because I need the snuggles just as much as she does.

-Being An Aunt. Being an aunt is amazing. I do not have kids but being an Aunt makes up for it. I get to spoil the kids and send them back home to their parents. I also can do what I want with them, buy what I want and I don't have to deal with the fits, arguments or outbursts. It is the best!

-Country Music. I LOVE country music. It is AMAZING and only best when played super loud, windows down and Luke Bryan shaking his rump when wearing super tight jeans.

What are things you could never quit? Go link up with Morgan as well!!!

With the time change, there is alot more "time" in my afternoons. Normally before the time change I would get home at dark after work and I would be busy with stuff in the house. With the time change now, I have a lot more time (sorry for all the uses of time) on my hands. Here are some things I plan to use during my free time:

1. Get some more running in. Before I would get home at dark and psh if I was going running in the dark. Now, I have a few hours I can get a run in and still get stuff done around the house. I need to get A LOT of running in as I am running Mudderella in September.

2. Cleaning my house more during the week and not just on weekends. I spend all the time cleaning on the weekends. If I could break it down during the week, that would be amazing!

3. I am back in school and if I can do a 1 to 2 days a week, my weekends would love me more.

4. I need to start planning meals more. I typically just throw something together even if it is not healthy. Any tips here would be great.

5. Our yard is in desperate need of some TLC. We built our house about 3 years ago and we have finally gotten the inside looking the way we want. We now need to work on the outside. We literally do not have one bush or flower outside. I need to start on this but the whole money thing, scares me. I just don't want to spend thousands of $$$ on my yard. What is a cheap way to make your yard look cute or nice?

These are a few things I plan on doing in my evenings since it is staying light out longer!!! Any tips would be appreciated!

Iphone Trouble

Yesterday I was in Iphone heaven until about 1:00. I am one of those people that loves to check their phone. I check my instagram, twitter, facebook and messages because...I think I am important of course. This drains my battery like no other. Here is how my day went.

Wake up....100 % battery. WOOT. Going strong. I am surfing the net while doing my hair, post stuff for the store. Send some text. We are doing good.

Go to work, surf during breaks, text the husband...tweet some bloggers. Life is good but that battery is draining some. I am not worried..I have my charger.

After lunch, I go to grab my charger. Psh... Apple doesn't know who it is messing with. But what is that? There is no charger to be found in my bag of work junk I lug with me every day. At that moment my world ended.

The 19 Stages Of Your Phone's Battery Life

I then check my phone, it is less than 20%.

And then...the end happens because like a moron I am unable to stop checking things. A smart person would have not checked things, left stuff be, not tweeted. Nope, not me. I am not a smart person. I had to send things out. Tweet about how I did not have my charger and how my battery was dying. Smooth, real smooth.

And happened. The phone died. My precious connection to the entire outside world was gone.During those precious 10-20 minutes while I stalked someone down to get a charger, my life was destroyed. At least I thought it was. I am pretty sure I looked like a deranged psychopath.

What this made me realize is we need to put the damn phones down, seriously. I got way too upset over a damn phone.

Sorry for the slight absence here lately. I have been slightly busy with life. I started school/classes back up this week and I had no idea just how much I was going to be doing. It is more work than I anticipated. Country Couture is booming!! If you have not gotten something and see it, I would suggest getting it! Things sell out faster than I can keep them stocked!! I sell through the instagram and the make sure you get what you want!

My birthday is this weekend! I am going to make it wonderful no matter what some people want to say about it! It is my special day out of the year so the haters can kiss my big ole ass! Happy Birthday to my self. I am turning 27, at some point I have to accept that I am aging and that in a few years I will no longer be a twenty something. Boo.

I promise to blog more, but if I don't sorry. I am super busy and trying to not spread my self super thin!
