Marcy The Weight Loss Guru


Hey everyone. Today Marcy from The Mustache Diaries is taking over my blog today. She is one of the first blogs I ever found and is one of my favs. She is super freaking funny and is one of my inspirations for losing weight! You have to follow this lady! She is amazing!

Hey y'all!
If you don't know me already (not that you would, because I am NOT famous or anything) I am Marcy and I blog over at The Mustache Diaries
On most days you will find me talking about my current weight loss highs and lows, my cute chitlins, my daily shenanigans, and a good GIF or ten.
I figured since I get asked at least a million times a day a couple times a day "what I am doing to get so thin???" I would tell you exactly what I am doing.
Not that I 1. think I am an expert or 2. think I am skinny or 3. think I know what I am really doing.
I just fake it til' I make it y'all!
However, I will still share{because sharing is caring}, what exactly I am doing...
MARCY'S TIPS FOR GETTING LEAN AND MEAN...
OR IS IT MEAN AND LEAN?
OR JUST MEAN?
WHATEVER...
TRACK YOUR CALORIES
I do NOT care how much it sucks it is such a huge part of this process.
I track whether its good, bad, or just plain damn ugly.
I used to think that if I missed a day here or there it didn't matter.
I mean surely I knew what was good for me and what was bad for me?
Wrong.
Also I find that if I have to track it and it is bad I am less likely to eat it or ever want it.
A good tip is to plan your meals.
This is also not saying that I eat clean 100% of the time.
I am not telling you to either.
We all have to find that balance it's just knowing that I can't have a large deep dish pizza by myself and lose weight.
I may not be able to do this every.single.day. and for those days I do tweak it a little bit.
I literally will plan out what I am going to eat first thing in the mornings.
That way I can see where I am at and give room for error, etc.
Even if you are on the right track you can get run over if you just sit there!
DRINK YOUR H2O
I can't stress the importance of this enough.
If you hate water there are great alternatives.
I buy the little Kroger brand water additives but I couldn't find a picture.
Something like Mio but it's cheaper!
Liquid Water Enhancer
I love water but typically for dinner I like to switch it up and give my water a little taste.
Makes me feel like I am having pop but I am not =)
MOVE THE BOOTY
I sailed through the first 100 pounds without lifting a finger.
That was back in February and then I realized I needed to actually move to lose anymore.
Ironically I did start working out but I ended up starting my bad eating habits and gained some back.
Regardless...
 YOU HAVE TO WORK OUT.
Not only does it help you lose weight it just makes you feel better all the way around.
Endorphins baby!
I currently have a love/hate relationship with running.
I hate it while I am doing it but afterwards I feel the utmost accomplishment.
I am proud of myself and it doesn't hurt the ol' thighs either.
I have currently done three races this year and am getting ready to do The Color Run in a few weeks.
These are huge motivators for me.
My current workout schedule is to at least workout Monday-Friday.
I am lucky enough to be offered a gym at work that I go to on my lunch break.
Typically one week Mon/Wed/Fri are dedicated to cardio and the other two are strength days.
Then the following week I switch.
On the weekends I like to try to get at least a run in on Saturday or Sunday allowing myself one rest day.
I will say this I am NOT a lazy person.
Rarely will you find me sitting on the weekends.
If you are bored and hungry do something I don't care if it's cleaning the toilet!
Pop some tunes in and go to town.

SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THOSE WHOM SUPPORT YOU
I can't stress enough how important this is.
Regardless of if it is your Husband, children, Mom, Dad, friends, etc.
You need support.
You need people that are going to uplift and empower you.
If you need this in your life I will be there for you.
I am available all the time.
There are girls I text literally just to check on them and help them out.
It's great if you have support IRL but if you don't you need to find it from somewhere.
Mind you, you are the only one that can actually make it happen, but it is super important to be uplifted.
It helps your moral.
JUST KEEP SWIMMING
I cannot even count on both hands the amount of times I have fallen off the wagon.
I am constantly growing, learning, and making mistakes.
Daily.
I just constantly pick myself back up, dust myself off, and keep chugging along.
Always remember that it's not just a new day...
Every second is a new second.
Why start tomorrow when you can start right now?
You deserve to start living an amazing life!

We are all made different.
There will be things that work for me that don't work for you.
There will be things that work for you but don't work for me.
You just have to find your own balance.
It takes time.
You didn't do the damage to your body over night.
It will not be healed over night.
