I am normally not very serious on my blog but today I am going to be. I was not even going to put this on here but after thinking about it over the weekend, this has been bothering me and I just have to get it out.
On Friday afternoon when I was leaving the building here at work I was walking past someone and they proceeded to put their hand on my stomach and say I looked like I was expecting a child. I wanted to break down crying but I did not want the person to see that they upset me. NOW normally I joke and say it is food baby and I forget about it. But this time it struck a cord..you see how I say this time. I was wearing capris with a top that was stretchy and I may have not been sucking in my stomach, hey we can't do that all the time.
This has happened more this once. I have had a few people over the past few years say something about my stomach. When I gain weight/carry my weight it is in my stomach. I have a baby pooch if that is what you call it and I think I look damn good for my self but I guess others think I look like I am about to start getting a baby bump.
Do I look super huge? Nope..but some people feel the need to ask if I am pregnant and feel the need to put their hands on my stomach. I warn everyone right now...NEVER EVER PUT YOUR HANDS ON ANYONE'S STOMACH. EVER. If you do not know if someone if pregnant..do not ask. I also believe that pregnant women do not like it as well..so stop doing this. This gives non-pregnant women complexes and pregnant women hate it.
Just remember the next time, if someone looks like they are gaining weight in only one area they may not be having a baby. Have some respect and do not ask that question!
