Yeast Rolls

Today was a day of baking! I made homemade yeast rolls for Chritmas Eve Dinner tomorrow night with my family. I am making the whole schebang! Here is the lovely recipe.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk scalded (about 2 1/2 mins in the microwave)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 stuck margarine
1 egg slightly beaten
1/4 cup warm water
2 packages dry yeast
4-5 cups flour

Mix the milk (after you warm it) the sugar, the margarine, and the egg. Combine the yeast and warm water separately until dissolved and them combine with above mixture. Slowly add 2 cups flour and mix well. Then add 2-3 cups more flour until dough is formed into a ball and not very sticky. Then let rise until double. Put 2-3 little balls in each space in the cupcake tin. Before baking let raise another 15-30 minutes. Cook at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.



I use the hook on the kitchen aid mixer to get all the air out! These are the best rolls ever! I also made a lovely pumpkin pie today as well! I was in a baking mood!
